We met the Adami Family in 1998 on our first visit to
Florence, Italy. They welcomed us into their shop,
Sbigoli Terrecotte, located behind the famous Duomo
along a narrow street lined with bicycles and full of
that which is ‘life in Italy’. Once inside, we knew we
had stumbled into a very special place, where generations
of artists have carefully and creatively carried on the
unique and special traditions of Italian ceramic art.
Antonella Adami, mother of Chiara and Lorenza and
wife of Valentino, carries on the traditional family
business of Italian ceramic art with her personal pattern,
“Toscano”. Inspired by the incredible beauty of the hills of Tuscany that surround Florence, Antonella
paints for the heart. Each piece is a work of art, a different landscape scene. Whether on dishware or
decorative pieces, the pattern of Toscano makes each a collector's item.
Tuscan Nights is honored to be able to share Antonella’s special pattern in items small and large. They
are created with her hand, her touch of the brush, her mind’s eye. Works of art to enjoy every day!
Antonella continues to paint and create these special pieces, hoping they bring a bit of what is Tuscany to
those who appreciate this unique art form.
